Dental Implant
Implants are titanium screws that are used in the treatment of teeth lost due to trauma or decay and are placed inside the jawbone. In the treatment, dental prostheses are placed on titanium screws. Implant treatment has many advantages over other dental treatments. For example, it is not necessary to cut adjacent teeth in implant treatment. Since the implant serves as the root of the tooth, you can eat whatever you want just like with your natural teeth.
Implant treatment can be applied to all people over the age of 18 who have completed their jaw and facial development. However, whether the person’s jaw structure is suitable for the implant is determined by taking an x-ray. Those who use blood thinners should stop their medications under the supervision of a doctor before treatment. Additionally, osteoporosis patients can have implant treatment after receiving the appropriate treatment. In those who have a habit of grinding their teeth at night (bruxism), an implant should be applied after this condition is brought under control.
In implant treatment performed under local anesthesia, x-rays are taken after a detailed examination. Dental implants are placed after measurements of the jawbones and remaining teeth are taken. After the dental implant is placed, it is covered with dental prostheses and left to heal. The treatment duration can vary between one day and six months. A dental implant can last for many years as long as oral and dental care is maintained well, just like natural teeth.
Zirconium implants are known as new generation implants made to increase the resistance of titanium implants. Zirconium implants are preferred to increase durability in narrow jawbones; they are no different from titanium except for durability.
